STATE  SUPERINTENDENT

Help Select Ohio's Next Superintendent of Public Instruction

THE FINAL THREE...
The State Board of Education has selected three finalists to be interviewed for Ohio's next superintendent of public instruction. These candidates will be interviewed at the May Board meeting on May 9 and 10. Board members met for a special meeting on Thursday, April 28, 2022, where they voted on seven candidates, narrowed down from the 27 candidates who applied for the role. Job posting HERE

Finalists:
  • Steven Dackin
  • Larry Hook
  • Thomas Hossler
The State Board of Education is searching for a new superintendent of public instruction to replace Paolo DeMaria, who resigned from the role in September 2021. DeMaria announced his resignation in July 2021, after serving as Ohio's superintendent for five years. Dr. Stephanie Siddens serves as the current interim superintendent, after the anticipated interim superintendent, then-Deputy Superintendent John Richard, unexpectedly resigned in August 2021.
