With so much at stake for Ohio education, it’s crucial that we continue uniting students, families, educators, organizations, and communities in the Honesty Movement – a movement grounded in our shared values and collective vision for honest, high-quality, education where ALL students are valued, affirmed, and loved.
By Us for Us
In 2021, Honesty started as a grassroots, volunteer effort, with you, students, families, educators, board members, organizations, and Ohioans across the state. Honesty was built by us for us. We united and organized across communities and zip codes to protect the freedom to learn and defend the rights and safety of students, families, and educators. YOU have been with us every step of the way at the Ohio Statehouse, State Board of Education, and local schools advocating for honest education and rebuking extremism and hate.
- Together, we built a statewide coalition representing more than 70 organizational partners.
- Together, we launched Honesty Teams for Ohio Education to build local Honesty Teams in all 88 counties across Ohio.
- Together, we presented at 96 events across Ohio and the country last year to share Honesty’s expertise and resources.
- Together, we defeated nearly two dozen extremist bills attacking students, families, and educators in the Ohio Statehouse.
- Together, we presented and submitted more than 2,000 witness testimonies opposing censorship and state-sponsored discrimination in Ohio schools.
- Together, we sent more than 120,000 letters to elected officials to stop targeted hate and harm in K-12 schools and college campuses.
- Together, we celebrated the esteemed Friend of Education Award from our family at the Ohio Education Association.
Growing the Honesty Movement in 2024
