Attacks on Public Education at the State Board of Education
As our students, families, educators, and school districts continue to navigate the challenges and impacts of the pandemic, key state leaders and extremist members of the State Board of Education (SBOE) are working to erode public education by superimposing harmful political agendas onto the State Board of Education.
Rather than ensuring ALL students receive a high-quality honest education and providing essential support and resources to vulnerable students, these leaders are eroding those supports and unduly influencing State Board operations and priorities.
Extremist tate leaders are systematically dismantling vital educational frameworks that build partnerships between families and educators, integrate student wellness into learning, and build pathways for greater academic success. These frameworks also root out inequities, disparities, and abuses that disproportionately harm our Black, Latin X, Brown, Asian, and Indigenous students.
