STATE BOARD MEETINGS The State Board meets every second Monday and Tuesday of the month. Mondays are reserved for Board Committees meetings and the Executive Committee meeting. President: The State Board selects a new president from among its members every two years
Vice President: The State Board selects a new vice president from among its members every two years

QUALIFICATIONS
FOR THE STATE BOARD ORC All State Board members must be registered voters living in Ohio. Members cannot hold an elected or appointed government position or be an employee of a school during while serving on the board. Member representing a rural school district must live in a rural area and either have children who have attended rural schools, have a professional connection to the rural areas of the state, or be able to demonstrate a connection to the rural parts of the state. ELECTIONS FOR THE STATE BOARD Elections for the State Board are staggered to prevent a complete turnover of leadership in any given election season. Each elected member represents a State Board district made up of three contiguous Senate districts. The governor determines the State Board districts by the January 31st date following the regular redistricting of state legislature maps.
