2022 Lame Duck

What is Lame Duck?
Lame duck is the period right after a general election and before the newly elected officials take office,
generally occurring mid-November through December.
It is a high-stakes, fast-moving, unpredictable time in the Statehouse.

During this period, legislators are rushing to introduce, amend, or pass pending bills before the end of the current General Assembly, which expires at year-end. Because pending bills do not carry over from one General Assembly to the next, many deals are brokered behind closed doors, legislation is fast-tracked with little public input, and controversial bill language is attached to unrelated bills expected to pass. You can expect a flurry of committee meetings, hearings, and votes.

Tracking the 2022 Lame Duck Session

Below are the bills Honesty is tracking throughout the 2022 Lame Duck Session. Please note, committee agendas are subject to change.
