Strong Ohio Schools

What is Strong Ohio Schools?

Strong Ohio Schools is a long-term vision for the future of public education in Ohio. In building this vision, we must determine what Ohioans across the board believe is important for public schools. It’s the foundation for future conversations and a roadmap for bringing policymakers, educators, parents, students, and community members back to what we have in common. It’s a nonpartisan initiative that prioritizes children and our collective future as Ohioans.

This vision is about public schools not as they are, not as they have been, but as they can be.

Host a Strong Ohio Schools Listening Session

The inaugural "Strong Ohio Schools" listening campaign is dedicated to hosting focus groups to collect a variety of perspectives across geographies, demographics, and political ideologies. Our goal through multiple forms of data collection is to reach 4,000 Ohioans. Our research team at Kent State University will be combing through data to determine what commonalities exist around what Ohioans want for the future of public schools.

Public education in in upheaval across the state and country. We are creating an opportunity to listen to parents, students, educators and neighbors, learn about our shared concerns & visions, and move to develop an action plan to make our dreams a reality. Help us reach our goal by hosting a listening session before March 30, 2026. Conversations can include 6-12 people; some or all may be folks in your circle or you may be meeting one another for the first time. You may even choose to have 1:1 conversations.
